Dead Loc

It finally happened. I've heard about it, I've read about and it has finally happened to me. I woke up this morning a discovered I had a loc hanging on by a thin piece of hair. I kept telling myself "Oh my God, don't panic. Wait until your company leaves and go look in the mirror." As my friend sat on my coach chatting I was wondering what does this loc look like. I could feel that it was the one right above my ear at my hair line. As a matter of fact it was one of my favorite locs, because it was one of the longer ones. It seemed to be thick at the end and last time I checked it was doing well. My curiosity got the best of me and I excused myself from my company and RAN to the bathroom to check my loc. Shoot there is no saving this lock. I simply cut it off and laid it on the sink. It looked so lonely there at the sink. I looked at the hair left behind and it felt soft to the touch. Surprisingly I am not upset, I guess it is apart of the process. However, I wonder if I contributed to the demise of my dear loc. Did I roll my hair too much? Did I wear my head band too tight? I don't really know what caused this loc to break off but you can bet your lucky penny I will be discussing this with my consultant. Honestly there are some locs that are too small around the nape of my hair line. This is the second thinning lock I've had. Both were near the hair line. I may have her combine a few around that area to avoid breakage. Well this is all apart of the journey. Trust me it's not all roses and love all the time when it comes to this hair thing.

Oh boy how this journey can have its ups and downs! I've had several like that, too. I actually blogged about it a couple of years ago. But whatever you do, keep it and at some point, you can reattach it. I also had some combined near the hairline. These are the ones that always seem to be the longest yet thinnest AND you hate to see go, but it'll be ok. I promise you, no one noticed its condition but you. Try not to panic though (but it's hard) because it WILL work out!

Girl, I recently lost 2 at the back of my neck. Like you I was momentarily taken aback aka kitchen locks. I've saved them for later;hopefully they can be reattached. Like you I also wondered was it me or a conspiracy. I've checked the rest of my locks and all seems to be well. Don't know for sure why it happened but it took me nearly 2 1/2 years to lose these 2.

Your hair is awesome, it's nice to see because I think Cassidy's hair is about your length so it gives me a good idea what her's will look like in 9 days!!
I do worry about them being too small, so I plan on talking to Denise before she starts about making them as big as sisterlocs can go (the large). As much as it scares me that she will lose some hair, the hair she looses from all this brushing and braiding and breaking off is much more I am quite sure!
You look fabulous!!
Hugs to you~~

OMGoodness,I just wrote about this in my other loc'd groups. I was told to keep H2O in my diet. I think this is a good idea because I'm not sure if you have been ok'd to use anytype of mosturizer. I panicked, I was so hurt. However, on a good note YO rockin' those locs chile.
