Nappy Hair + Vain Man = PROBLEMS

Okay y’all I am having boyfriend issues. Basically he does not like my natural hair. Now he wont come straight out and admit it but he says little sly comments that make me feel like he really doesn’t care for it.
First of all he went ballistic when I cut it all off . He damn near hyper ventilated. He threatened to kill the barber and begged me to never put a pair of clippers next to my head. Then he went and purchased me all kinds of hats to wear. When I started cursing him out he said I was over reacting, he only purchased them because he thought they were cute. I called him a damn lie. Needless to say I have never worn any of the hats. And I will not… I’m trying to prove a point. At that time he said he was cool with the natural hair but not with the bald look.
He hates the fro and I can’t blame him, I’m not too crazy about the small fro either so we both agree on that. He kinda liked it when I had my hair in twist he said that was pretty a few times. So now my hair has grown and the comb twist seems to take too long (2.5 hours weekly). Now I two strand twist them.. like in the pictures above and he aint too crazy about that style. I told him I was gonna get my hair braided to help it grow plus I was tired of twisting it weekly.

Man he has been worrying the hell out of my about getting it braided. I told him that I like my natural hair and I understand because he is from Los Angles that he may think that long weaves and relaxed hair is more attractive. He swears I am flipping out and he just feels that my hair would do better in braids than the twist. Of course I am looking at him crossed eyed like yeah right. He says I am too sensitive about my hair. I told him I was not relaxing my hair nor would I be willing to wear a glued in or sowed in weave.

I have never fought with a man about hair before. Most men I dated really could care less about my hair style. As long as it was combed and decent looking there was no problems. He gonna have to get his mind right. I told him that I was not gonna argue with him about MY hair and there was nothing he can do about it. He says I am being dramatic and going flipping out. I just want him to know where I stand and I refuse to back down. But then again so does he!

Product Reviews and Growth Report

Right now I am loving my hair. My hair goes through stages, sometimes I love it, others time not so much. It is getting to the point where it is growing and the twist are actually standing up off my head. I love my hair to have height and depth. I can stand my hair to be too flat.

Right now I am using a few products that I absolutely love. The first one is Elasta QP Olive Oil and Mango Butter. I use this product to two strand twist my hair. It is thick as pudding and really moisturizes my kinky course tresses. Now the one down fall about this product is the color. It is white and takes awhile to dissipate into the hair. When I put the product into my hair it looks white for awhile. No matter how much you rub this product in your palms it will not change into a clear substance. I normally do my hair at night and in the morning the whiteness is completely gone.

Once completely twist my hair with the Elasta QP Olive Oil and Mango Butter. I seal the ends with Organix Coconut anti breakage serum. This is a great product and it really keep my ends from breaking off while strengthen my hair. I put this on my ends every three to four days at night when I tie my hair down.

For daily moisture I use Jamaican lime and mango locking gel. This product smells great and it is in a gel form. I use about a quarter size of this everyday on my twist. It makes my hair more pliable and supple. The second product is S Curl spray moisturizing activator. Yes, I know when haven’t seen this in awhile. But this stuff actually works. It also moisturizes my hair, makes it soft and adds sheen. The same thing it did for the curl…. It does for the natural hair as well.

My hair is super course and kinky and coily. It absolutely loves moisture and behaves best when it is completely and fully moisturized and shown love on a daily basis. If my hair does not have the proper moisture levels it will get really hard and break off easily.

The wonderful things about the above products is none of them cost more than $8.00 and can be found in Walgreens. I have tried so many of the more expensive products and they do not work on my hair type. So far these products are doing the job and my hair is growing.
